Centripetal Education — Terms and Conditions

Overview

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Centripetal Education website and all programs and services offered through it, including the Physics Readiness Bootcamp, Physics Explorations, and Private Physics Coaching. By enrolling in any program or using this site, you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility

All programs and services are intended for students age 13 and older. Students under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete enrollment on their behalf. By enrolling a minor, the parent or guardian agrees to these Terms and Conditions and accepts responsibility for the student’s participation.

2. Programs and Services

Centripetal Education offers the following:

Physics Readiness Bootcamp (Live): A five-day live program delivered via Zoom. Dates, times, and enrollment details are listed on the program page.

Physics Readiness Bootcamp (Self-Paced): A self-paced program delivered through recorded video modules. Access begins immediately upon enrollment and is available for the lifetime of the program.

Physics Explorations: Three self-paced programs covering Mechanics, Motion & Energy; Thermodynamics, Waves & Optics; and Electricity, Magnetism & Modern Physics. Available September 2026. Access begins upon enrollment and is available for the lifetime of each program.

Private Physics Coaching: Ongoing one-on-one online coaching sessions delivered via Zoom. Subject to availability and governed by additional terms in Section 6 of this document.

3. Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of enrollment unless otherwise stated. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are listed in U.S. dollars.

Centripetal Education reserves the right to update pricing at any time. Price changes do not affect enrollments already completed.

4. Refund Policy

Self-Paced Programs

(Physics Readiness Bootcamp — Self-Paced | Physics Explorations)

A full refund is available within 7 days of purchase, provided you have accessed no more than one module. Once more than one module has been accessed, the refund window closes.

Live Programs

(Physics Readiness Bootcamp — Live Cohort)

A full refund is available up to 48 hours before the first session. After that point, no refund will be issued. All sessions are recorded, and registered students retain access to recordings for the duration of the program.

In the event that Centripetal Education cancels a live program, registered students will receive either a full refund or priority enrollment in the next available cohort — their choice.

Private Physics Coaching

The monthly coaching fee reserves your student’s place in the schedule. There is no long-term contract. To discontinue coaching, notify Robin at least 7 days before the next billing date. Charges already processed are non-refundable.

Individual session cancellations require 24 hours advance notice to be rescheduled without charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, or no-shows, are forfeited for that billing period.

Bundles

Bundle purchases follow the same policy as individual programs. If more than one module has been accessed in any program within the bundle, the refund window for the full bundle has closed.

How to Request a Refund

Email [contact email] with your name and the program you purchased. Refunds are processed within 5 business days.

5. Digital Program Access and Use

Upon enrollment in a self-paced program, you receive a personal, non-transferable license to access the program content for your own educational use.

You may not:

Share login credentials or access with others
Reproduce, distribute, or resell program content in any form
Record or screenshot program materials for redistribution

6. Private Physics Coaching — Terms of Engagement

The coaching relationship works best when everyone understands what they’re agreeing to. This section sets out the expectations for the student, the parent or guardian, and the coach.

What I Ask of the Student

The coaching relationship is built on the same principle as the teaching: understanding has to come from you, not from me handing you an answer. That means your role in sessions is active, not passive.

Show up prepared. Bring your most recent work, a question you couldn’t answer, or a concept that didn’t click. If you’re not sure what to bring, bring anything — we’ll find the thread together.

Engage honestly. If you don’t understand something, say so. If an explanation isn’t working, say that too. The sessions work because of the back-and-forth, not in spite of it.

Do the work between sessions. If I give you something to try before we meet again, try it. Not because I’ll quiz you on it, but because the thinking you do between sessions is where most of the learning actually happens.

Give notice when you can’t make it. Life happens. A heads-up as early as possible allows me to use the time well and keeps your spot secure.

Communicate directly. If something about the sessions isn’t working for you, tell me. I’d rather hear it early and adjust than have you quietly disengage.

What I Ask of Parents and Guardians

Your student’s success matters to both of us. Here’s how you can support it best.

Let the student engage independently. Coaching sessions are most effective when the student is the one doing the thinking. Sitting in occasionally is fine; regular attendance or participation in sessions is not.

Bring concerns directly to me. If you have questions about progress, approach, or anything else, email or message me directly. Routing concerns through the student adds friction and can undermine their confidence in the room.

Trust the process — and the timeline. Confidence and problem-solving habits take longer to build than a single test score takes to improve. Early sessions often look like a student getting more comfortable with uncertainty. That’s exactly what’s supposed to happen.

Provide reasonable notice of scheduling changes. Last-minute cancellations affect both your student’s progress and my ability to serve other students. A heads-up as early as possible is appreciated.

Support the work at home. You don’t need to understand every physics concept to ask your student what they worked on, what they figured out, or what’s still puzzling them. That conversation — brief, low-stakes — reinforces more than you might expect.

What You Can Expect from Me

I will show up prepared. Before every session, I review where we left off, what the student is currently working on, and what I want to explore with them. Sessions are not improvised.

I will tell you the truth about progress. If your student is improving, I’ll say so specifically — not just “doing well.” If something isn’t working, I’ll say that too, and I’ll bring a recommendation. You deserve honesty, not reassurance.

I will adapt. No two students think the same way, and no two months of coaching look the same. As your student’s course, confidence, and goals change, the sessions change with them.

I will be available between sessions — briefly. Quick questions via email between sessions are part of the coaching relationship. Extended between-session tutoring is not. If your student needs more than a quick exchange, we’ll address it in the next session.

I will respect your student’s privacy. What happens in a session stays between me and the student, with one exception: if I have a concern about a student’s wellbeing, I will communicate it to the parent or guardian directly.

I will give you reasonable notice of any schedule changes. My schedule is carefully managed. If I ever need to adjust or cancel a session, I’ll notify you as early as possible and make it right.

Coaching sessions are not recorded. This protects the student’s privacy and keeps the session space open for honest thinking.

7. Conduct

Centripetal Education reserves the right to end a coaching relationship or revoke access to a program without refund if a student or parent engages in conduct that is disruptive, abusive, or inconsistent with a productive learning environment. This includes but is not limited to verbal abuse, harassment, or repeated failure to honor scheduling commitments without notice.

This is not language I ever expect to need. It’s here because these documents are supposed to cover everything.

8. Limitation of Liability

Centripetal Education provides educational programs and coaching services. While every effort is made to deliver accurate, high-quality instruction, results — including grades, test scores, and academic outcomes — depend on many factors outside my control, including the student’s engagement, effort, and individual circumstances.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Centripetal Education’s liability for any claim arising from use of this site or enrollment in any program is limited to the amount paid for that program.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Centripetal Education website and in all programs — including text, videos, graphics, exercises, and course materials — is the intellectual property of Robin DeMarco Enterprises, Inc. / Centripetal Education. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or use is prohibited.

The Physics Thinking Method, program names, and brand materials are proprietary to Centripetal Education.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or from use of Centripetal Education’s programs or services shall be resolved in the courts of New York State.

11. Changes to These Terms

Centripetal Education reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the site or enrollment in programs after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
